Oyo Confirms Cancelation Of 2020 Hajj For International Pilgrims.

Oyo State Pilgrim Welfare Board (Muslim wing) has confirmed the decision of Saudi Arabia authority to allow only the local Pilgrims of different nationality to perform the Hajj 2020 and cancel the attendance of the international Pilgrims.

The Chairman of the Board, Prof Sayed Malik made the  disclosure while briefing the Journalists about the development in his office at the Hajj Camp, Olodo, Ibadan.

Prof. Malik, stated that the decision was to curb the spread novel coronavirus pandemic that is currently ravaging the whole world, considering the large number of people that will wish to perform the 2020 Hajj.

He added that the decision was  to prevent contact of COVID 19 and  curtail the spread of it among  the  international Pilgrims who we converge in the holy land for 2020 Hajj.

He  hinted all the intending Pilgrims that have deposited their monies with the board that their monies are  intact and safe till 2021 Hajj, adding that those that wish to get their money back are permitted to request for the refund of their monies by writing to the board.

The Chairman further  appreciated the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) under the leadership of Alhaji (Barrister) Kunle Hassan, on behalf of the board members for the unrelent efforts put in place for the 2020 Hajj operation, as we know that man proposes and God disposes.

The Chairman thereafter warned all the 2021 intending Pilgrims that COVID-19 is real and enjoyed them to  join the Oyo State Government in it’s efforts to fight the pandemic by always observing all the protocols listed to prevent this deadly pandemic.

Last Batch of Oyo 2019 Muslim Pilgrims Depart Makkah to Nigeria

The last batch of  2019 Pilgrims  from Oyo State to Makkah and Medinah  have successfully departed Saudi Arabia to Nigeria after completing their pilgrimage rights.

The Chairman of the Board, Prof. Sayed Malik confirmed this while addressing the Journalists at the Pilgrims hotel Durat Al Ewaa, Makkah.

The Chairman disclosed that four hundred and thirty three (433) Pilgrims departed Makkah to Jeddah where they will board flight to Nigeria, while over four hundred and fifty (450) of the Pilgrims had  arrived Nigeria earlier.

He  appreciated Almighty Allah for  successful performance of the Pilgrims Hajj activities both in Makkah and Medinah.

Prof . Malik then thanked His Excellency ,  Governor Seyi Makinde for his support before and during the Hajj exercise. He also appreciated the Pilgrims for their support and cooperation during the Hajj.

The Chairman used the medium to remind the Pilgrims to make use of the lessons learnt from this year Hajj and do away with any act  or behaviour that can destroy their Hajj when getting back to their various houses.

Oyo Muslim Pilgrims Successfully Ascend Mount Arafat

All the intending pilgrims from Oyo state gathered on Saturday at the sacred hill of Mount Arafat in Saudi Arabia for an intense day of worship and reflection on what is considered the climax of the Islamic hajj pilgrimage.

The Chairman of the Board Prof. Sayed Malik disclosed  this while addressing the Journalists at the mount of Arafat in  the city of Mecca,Saudi Arabia.

“The Day of Arafat, considered to be the most important day during the Muslim pilgrimage of Hajj, sees pilgrims making their way to the site of Mount Arafat to spend much of the day in prayer. It is also the site where Muslims believe the Prophet Mohammad delivered his last sermon to believers.”

He  appreciated Allah for  successful performance of the Pilgrims Hajj duties both in Medinah, Makkah till the stage of Arafat.

Prof. Sayed Malik then led prayer with the Amir Hajj, Aree Musulumi of Yorubaland Edo and Delta, Alhaji Dahood Mokanjuola Akinola along with all the Pilgrims for the themselves, the state and Nigeria as a whole.

The Chairman also prayed for the successful completion of this year Hajj exercise.

In his own comments, one of the facilitators  Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Adelani urged the Pilgrims to continuous in prayer  after which he reminds them of the Quran verse were Allah instructed that we should call on him and He also promised to answer our prayers.
